Corporate Overview
Building a copper company made to last.
Altamira is a mid-tier producer of the metal at the heart of global electrification, operating long-life, low-cost copper mines across Mexico and Chile.
Who we are
A focused copper producer with room to grow.
Altamira Mining develops and operates copper assets across Mexico and Chile. Our portfolio is anchored by the Cobre Verde mine in Sonora, a long-life, low-cost open pit. It is complemented by a pipeline of development and exploration projects in two of the world’s premier copper districts.
From our headquarters in Toronto, a team of more than 3,400 people produces the copper that wiring, motors and grids depend on, with the discipline and responsibility a multi-decade business demands.

From our CEO
“Copper is the metal the world will electrify on, and the responsibility to produce it well has never mattered more.”
Across Mexico and Chile, our teams turn that responsibility into safe, low-cost tonnes and lasting value for the communities that host us. We are building Altamira to endure: disciplined in how we operate, ambitious in how we grow, and clear-eyed about the role our metal plays in a lower-carbon world.
That is the company our shareholders, our people and our host communities deserve, and it is the one we come to work to build every day.
